What We Actually Do — and What We Don’t
At JUS Official Services, we believe most independent artists don’t fail because they lack talent. They stall because the system is confusing, predatory, or stacked against people who don’t already have leverage. Our role as a Talent Agent and/or Full Manager exists to level that playing field without taking away control.
This page is intentionally blunt. If you are looking for someone to own you, dictate your sound, lock you into a long contract, or promise fame, this is not the place. If you are looking for advocacy, strategy, and someone firmly on your side, keep reading.
When acting in a talent agent capacity, JUS Official Services operates strictly within the bounds of applicable state and federal law. Talent agency activity may include communicating with third parties, discussing opportunities, negotiating terms, and facilitating introductions related to paid work where legally permitted.
In states that require talent agents to be licensed or regulated as employment agencies, our role may be limited. In those jurisdictions, we may provide advisory support, deal preparation, negotiation guidance, and communications assistance without directly procuring employment or collecting agency-based commissions. These boundaries are not loopholes or gray areas; they are intentional compliance measures designed to protect both the artist and our firm.
We are transparent about where we can and cannot procure work. If procurement is restricted in a specific state, we will still support the artist strategically while ensuring the artist retains the ability to execute or accept opportunities directly.
At no point do we position ourselves as “above the law,” nor do we ask artists to misrepresent relationships or payment structures.
As a Full Manager, our job is to help you think long-term while handling the short-term chaos that comes with being an independent artist. This includes strategic planning, brand alignment, release strategy, audience development, professional communication, and opportunity evaluation.
We help artists understand contracts before they sign them. We help prepare for conversations with venues, collaborators, promoters, and platforms. We help artists decide what to say yes to, what to say no to, and what to renegotiate.
We do not replace your voice. We amplify it. Decisions remain yours. We advise, advocate, and support, but we do not override or coerce.
We do not control your creative output. We do not own your masters. We do not take your publishing. We do not demand exclusivity beyond what is reasonably necessary for the services agreed upon. We do not force branding changes, genre shifts, or public personas that feel inauthentic.
We do not guarantee results. We do not promise virality, chart placement, bookings, or income thresholds. Anyone who does is either lying or selling hope instead of strategy.
We do not act as a label, investor, or employer unless explicitly agreed to in writing under a separate arrangement.
Every relationship with JUS Official Services is built with the understanding that artists retain freedom. You are always welcome to leave, subject to reasonable notice and wind-down provisions outlined in your agreement. There are no punitive exit traps, no silent ownership clauses, and no hidden penalties for choosing a different path.
We hope to work with artists long-term. We build for longevity. But longevity only works when both sides want to be there.
Our services are designed specifically for artists with early traction, limited reach, or minimal industry access. We work with people who have under 5,000 followers. We work with artists who play small venues, house shows, open mics, and local stages. We work with people who are talented but overlooked.
You do not need a résumé to be taken seriously here. You need commitment, honesty, and the willingness to grow.
Because laws governing talent agencies and employment procurement vary widely by state, JUS Official Services operates with jurisdictional awareness. In some states, direct procurement of paid work without licensure is prohibited or heavily regulated. In those cases, our role shifts to advisory, strategic, and managerial support only.
We disclose these limitations upfront. We do not collect commissions for activities we are not legally permitted to perform. We structure agreements to remain compliant while still providing value.
This protects you. It protects us. And it keeps the relationship clean.
We are not here to control you.
We are not here to exploit you.
We are not here to rush you into something you don’t understand.
We are here to advocate, advise, and help you move forward with clarity instead of confusion.
